A thoughtful and engaging design professional.

Live from the stage/my workspace

Michelle Sauvé

I attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Graphics: Aesthetic and Practical Applications. My career as a visual design professional includes experience in a multinational high-tech company, with a startup magazine publisher, as an independent design business owner, and in an academic environment.

2013 – present / University of Massachusetts, Communications Office
2011 – 2013 / New Chapter, Inc., Marketing and Communications Office
1991 – 2011 / Sauvé Design
2006 – 2008 / Fathoms Magazine
1984 – 1991 / Digital Equipment Corporation, Media Communications Group

I've compiled a Spark Page to provide a more comprehensive view of some of my recent assignments in the UMass Amherst Communications Office.

My creative approach is to understand the objective of the project and then to find a balance between the art and science of the communication framework that defines the medium. I thoroughly enjoy the journey for each and every project.

In the summer, I spend time outdoors hiking, biking, refining my “pollinator fly-way” gardens, and playing pickleball and badminton. On winter days, you’ll find me cross-country skiing and making soup. I enjoy getting immersed in thick books in the long evening hours of winter. I love engaging with my friends year-round as an activist for wildlife, the environment, democracy, and the causes of social & economic justice organizations.
